Snoopy's Great Fall Adventure
The first leaf turned orange, and Snoopy knew: fall had arrived on the doorstep of the doghouse. He pulled his aviator cap from the closet, adjusted his scarf, and climbed atop his red roof. From there, the whole neighborhood smelled of woodsmoke, pumpkin pie, and possibility.

Woodstock fluttered down in a whirl of gold and crimson, landing on Snoopy's nose with a tiny sneeze. Together they watched Charlie Brown rake a mountain of leaves into a pile so perfect it seemed a crime to jump in it. So, naturally, they jumped twice.

Charlie Brown rakes them, Snoopy scatters them. A properly built leaf pile should be at least one beagle tall and jumped into no fewer than twice.
Doghouse hibernation prep
Fluff the blanket, stock the supper dish, and position the roof for optimal cloud-watching. The Red Baron can wait until the sun is out.
The Great Pumpkin patrol
Linus insists he's coming. Snoopy remains skeptical, but he will happily sit in the pumpkin patch as long as there are snacks involved.
Good grief. Every year I rake the leaves, and every year that dog jumps in before I've finished. I suppose that's what fall is for.
